PostandBid LLC ("PostandBid," "we," "us," or "our") operates the PostandBid platform — a marketplace connecting homeowners with independent contractors for home improvement projects. This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the PostandBid website (postandbid.com) and any associated applications or services.

We are committed to handling your personal information responsibly and transparently. We collect only what we need to operate the platform, and we never sell your personal data to third parties.

2. What we collect

We collect information you provide directly and information generated automatically when you use the platform.

We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects without human review.

4. Who we share your data with

Stripe

All payments on PostandBid are processed by Stripe Inc. When you make a payment, your card details are sent directly to Stripe — PostandBid never sees or stores your full card number, expiry date, or CVC. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how users interact with the platform — which pages are visited, how long users stay, and where they come from. Google Analytics collects anonymised usage data via cookies. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Between homeowners and contractors

When a contractor bids on a homeowner's project, certain information is shared between them to facilitate the working relationship. Homeowners' full names are not displayed to contractors browsing the feed — they are shown only to contractors who have placed a bid on that homeowner's specific project. Contractors' business names, ratings, and self-declared credentials are visible to all platform users.

Legal requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of PostandBid, our users, or the public.

Business transfers

If PostandBid is acquired, merged with another company, or its assets are transferred, your personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

5. Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. PostandBid uses the following types of cookies:

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the platform. We do not use cookies for advertising or to track you across other websites.

6. Email communications

Transactional emails

We will always send you transactional emails necessary to operate your account. These include account creation confirmations, payment receipts, bid notifications, dispute updates, and important account notices. You cannot opt out of transactional emails while your account is active.

Promotional emails

With your consent, we may send you promotional emails about new features, platform tips, and PostandBid updates. You can opt out of promotional emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us at support@postandbid.com. Opting out of promotional emails does not affect transactional emails.

7. Data retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the platform's services. Specifically:

• Account information is retained for the life of your account plus 3 years after closure
• Payment records are retained for 7 years to comply with financial regulations
• Project posts and bid history are retained for 3 years after a project closes
• Messages between users are retained for 2 years
• Analytics data is retained for 26 months in line with Google Analytics defaults

When data is no longer needed we securely delete or anonymise it. Some data may be retained longer if required by law or to resolve outstanding disputes.

8. Security

We take the security of your personal data seriously. PostandBid uses the following measures to protect your information:

• All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections
• Payment card data is handled entirely by Stripe — PostandBid never stores card details
• Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing — we cannot see your password
• Access to user data within our systems is restricted to authorised personnel only

No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. While we take every reasonable precaution, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@postandbid.com.

9. Your rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access

You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you at any time.

Correction

You may request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal data we hold about you.

Deletion

You may request that we delete your personal data. We will honour deletion requests subject to any legal obligations to retain certain data (such as payment records). Deleting your data will result in the closure of your account.

Opt out of marketing

You may opt out of promotional emails at any time as described in Section 6.

Data portability

You may request a copy of your data in a portable, machine-readable format.

10. Children's privacy

PostandBid is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@postandbid.com and we will delete that information promptly.

Users must be at least 18 years old to create an account on PostandBid, as stated in our Terms of Service.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will notify registered users by email and by a prominent notice on the platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of PostandBid after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
